Designing and producing machinery for the chemical industry calls for a different and highly meticulous approach. After all, the danger of causing infection and sickness among consumers has to be eliminated. For that reason, machinery has to meet a number of requirements regarding hygiene. The design standards for machinery in the chemical industry will soon be brought level with those for machinery for the food industry. In terms of design criteria, Klinkenberg already started down this road some years ago. It has further integrated its practical experience and supplemented it with the basic guidelines set by various regulatory bodies.
